"Having our property as headquarters and the home of the event is a great fit", says Ross Greenaway, General Manager Novotel Barossa Valley Resort.

"The Coopers Pale Ale Rally SA is the nation's most popular and friendly round of the Australian Rally Championship and the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort prides itself with similar standards of friendliness and excellence for all our guests".

Mr. Greenaway said the Coopers Pale Ale Rally SA was "a great promotion for Australia's premiere wine region with the event having its promotional start at Tanunda in the heart of the Barossa".

"Rally enthusiasts and the competing teams can enjoy the luxury of the Novotel, the unique charm of the Barossa, and the excitement of the Australian Rally Championship when they visit us for the event".

Factory teams including Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Toyota contest the event with factory prepared four-wheel drive, turbo-charged machines driven by the likes of Ed Ordynski, Neal Bates, Simon Evans, and the reigning Champion Cody Crocker.

Following the Tanunda start, rally fans will feast on the nation's best rally action in the main spectator area at Mount Crawford with spectacular jumps, water crossings and amazing sideways, sliding, flat-out rally action from the best in the business being the order of the day.

Last year's event was won by South Australian ace Ed Ordynski in his Mitsubishi in front of an Australian Rally Championship record crowd of 26,300 while hundreds of thousands also viewed the event via the national telecast on Network Ten.
